So I decided it's time to clean and protect the roof before the weather turns and winter kicks in, the only problem is my car keeps getting full of these floaty white flower things that drive me crazy! What's worse is if you leave them there and it rains these damn things get embedded into the roof and are a nightmare to remove. One forum member mentioned that he now carries a lint roller to get rid of them.
Now first off I need talk about this little miracle because it really is just that!
I saw this little car vacuum on Amazon and really it was just an impulse buy out of curiosity. At £25 I thought it's not a whole lot of money, I'm not going to miss it. The Vacuum plugs into your cigarette lighter so you will never need to charge it and you won't need to find a plug socket and dangle that extension cable out the kitchen window. So in essence you can use it at anytime and anywhere. The convenience factor is worth it's weight in gold and the vac is tiny enough to keep in the boot without taking up any room. Oh but I'd keep my ignition on if you're going to be doing a big job, that's if you still your battery to work afterwards.

It comes with this nice little carry case so you can take it anywhere and it's easy to tuck away.
I hadn't realise that you can actually fit everything in that little bag :roll: And this is how much room it takes up in the boot.
On to the roof now and these are the little suckers. Where do they even come from anyway?! You may also notice the fairly embarrassing wax line from waxing the car with the roof down, this stuff ingrains itself into the fabric too and won't go away (Ignore the dog she's happy!)
At first I was thoroughly disappointed because out of the box the vac wasn't picking up any of the white things, so I thought I'd use the brush add on and hope it made things better.... Amazing!! The brush loosened all that ingrained sh**e while the vac then sucked it away. I didn't even need too scrub much. This took me about 20 - 25 minutes, not on behalf of the vac but for how tight those little buggers grip to the roof.
Results. As you can tell, I like this little beauty and I'd recommend it to anyone with a soft top that attracts debris, and obviously you can do the rest of the car too. I bought it mainly for my roof, if I notice anything collecting on it now I can just whip this bad boy out anywhere and keep my roof tidy. £25 is a steal for the convenience to me, no plugs, no charger, compact, awesome!
Now to get rid of that horrible wax stain and there's only one thing for it, Autoglym Cleaner and protector! Instead of agitating with that little sponge they provide I used a scrubbing brush to get a deep into the fabric and the results? The stain is gone and the roof is the tidiest I've ever seen it. All in all I'm happy
Now I just need these bloody mirrors back !!
