Clean Air Charges - who is compliant?

Bristol has introduced a clean air charging system this week - £9/day for non compliant vehicles.

Having entered my reg in their on-line checker I was really surprised to discover that my 2004 3.0i is in fact compliant. The criteria is to be able to meet Euro 4 standard which their website says is likely to be vehicles made from 2006.

I've checked it 3 times now and taken a screenshot just in case

Which Z4 models are non compliant?

It's basically an anti-Diesel thing. The 08 plate works van doesn't comply.

Bloody awful system they've implemented as it includes a stretch of the Portway which one would use to merely skirt round the edge of Bristol should the motorway be shut etc. Or, of a Sunday evening on my way home from somewhere, if I fancy going the scenic route in my 320d.

This is all on top of generally screwing up the road system in the centre that makes getting to some parts unbelievingly convoluted.

Bristol City Council are very much anti-car, I work off Cumberland Road on Spike Island and they’re determined to make life as miserable as possible for anyone using it. Can’t wait for the new one way system, not!

There was a mandatory foreclosure on the Caravan park to make more millions on overpriced flats on the waterfront, they offered another site further up as compensation but we’re then declined planning due to the possibility of flooding :headbang:

I think the London ULEZ is Euro 6 and above.
I was surprised a few years ago when I had to drive into the West End that my 2 tonne, CO2 belching diesel Volvo was compliant!

The London one is Euro 4 for petrol and Euro 6 for diesel, and it sounds like the Bristol scheme is the same.

So my MC and E90 330i are both compliant...............for now anyway!

i work in Birmingham city centre and drive in every day in my e85 2.5. Fully compliant with their clean air charge zone.
