Claybar or Tack?

Someone told me once that white tack is just as good as using a claybar and nowhere like as expensive, :? is that right?

No idea.. but that would be like saying I going to use a pair of scissors to cut my dinner because it works..
Not the right tool for the job but it may work..

I would pop to Halfords and get a clay mitt personally as this is a lot quicker and safer as you probably won't drop it like you will a clay bar.

Would not risk it a claybar is not that expensive and you will not need to use the whole bar.

We moved to using clay mitts, when required sometime ago. Easier to use, inexpensive and good results overall. However, it has to be said, there is always a chance of marring paint with any of the coating products. It’s definitely less of a risk on bmw paint, as generally speaking it’s a harder paint than say the Japanese manufactured cars.

Another vote for Clean your car been using them for years quick delivery and never any probs and if you decide to use them get yourself some Megs LT best all round QD I have ever used so many uses

The best clay bars I’ve ever used are by Bilt Hamber. 3 different grades depending on the level of dirt build up. I’ve always avoided claying at this time of the year as there is more chance of marring the paint due to low temps.

May i suggest sticking to a proper clay ( soft )

a clay mitt is fantastic and will REALLY cut time down massively but.... i like to think of it as the sledgehammer ...Not very accurate , a wrecking ball and you WILL cause more marring with one of these mitts or cloths.

Clay bar? think of it as the scalpel, accurate , slower but much more friendly to the paint... Will these be a big deal when your correcting the paint anyway??? maybe not BUT... id prefer to introduce as little damage as possible that will need additional correction work.

i use bilt hamber clay.. warm slightly then just use water as lube... Brilliant. But slow.
