Clay Mitt

Does the mitt not need normal lube like you use for a bar?

Apparently not - it works with normal car shampoo (although I've read that some owners use the lube with it)

I got one for Christmas last year but have not tried it yet. Was planning to use it on the Abarth and Audi. Also got that based on the reviews.

I got a clay cloth from these guys; http://www.theclayclothcompany.co.uk/ourshop/prod_4196009-A-Clay-Cloth-Sovereign.html

It's excellent, and supposedly very long lasting..

That's all I've used it with (car shampoo) & it glides over the bodywork with nary a hitch

Well I used it this evening and I'm very happy with the results. The paintwork felt noticeably smother and after a polish looks glossy and wet :)

Off to buy a Farecla G3 Body Prep Clay Mitt from Halfords - gets great reviews :)
http://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-cleaning/clay-bars-detailing-products/farecla-g3-body-prep-clay-mitt
Used the same one for the first time last weekend and followed the advice from the boy in the shop and used it as a sponge with the normal good quality shampoo instead of a specialist lubricant and worked great. Was told you can use it b/w 30 - 50 times but how true that is only time will tell

I have one and they work great! I still keep a clay bar for tight spaces, but mitt is so much faster and results are just as good. For lube i use normal shampoo in spray bottle diluted with water - dodo juice btbm.

I've had one abit now and used it yesterday on my sons new car which had been under a tree for months and removed all the sap and mold. Snow foamed, washed then used the mit with autoglym detail spray and it worked a treat with out much rubbing.

Thanks Marlon have thought abut a clay mit but never got round to it your post and replies got me into action. So after the specified cleaning I used the mit ,and yes it gives a silky smooth feel. Then a coat of Mr Wicks recommended topaz polish and I am well pleased.IMG_0947.JPGIMG_0944.JPG

If you pick this up Z4M2006 recognise the wheels.

Looking good Baza

This could have gone so wrong for Marlon if everyone had ended up with scratches - it would not have been Zedward who would have ended up in the boot ...

I will try it soon on my Audi, as that could do with some TLC.
