Clay bar windscreen

Had very noisy wipers so recently took a clay bar to the windscreen (for the first time) to see if it would make a difference.

Drove in the rain today and definitely made a huge difference...so much quieter. :D Seem to glide across much easier.

I still think I may need to do some research on here about making a wiper adjustment as the driver's side wiper appears to hit the vertical windscreen edge and make a noise but just thought I would post in case it helped anyone else.

Used this as it was on offer at halfords, which included a clay bar and lubricant.

I guess a clay bar is going to work a bit like jewellers rouge and buff out fine scratches as well as removing contamination, worth a try

Been using a combination of 50/50 alcohol and demin water and a wodge of wire wool to decontaminate the windscreen.
The biggest improvement comes with new wipers though. Bosch super plus 21/19 set with the long spoiler (curved 19 incher for pax side)

I use a Farecla clay mitt on the car.
When I got a new one I kept the old one and use it regularly to clean the windscreen. Does make a big difference.

I got my Zed back from the body shop and discovered overspray on my windshield, as we call it in Canada, and my driverside window. I used my claybar with plenty of lubricant and it turned out beautifully.

hmmm might have to try this... on the drive in to work today, driving into a low sun, my windscreen is peppered with small dots, despite a thorough cleaning the other week! they are either thousands of tiny stone chips, or some other kind of contaminant. considered replacing the screen, but far cheaper to try a clay mitt on it first.

May well find they are tiny chips, all full of polish. Clay mitt certainly cleaned my one up a lot, but obviously the chips will still be there.
