Cigarette lighter

Hi,
Trying to charge my dash-cam, but the adaptor doesn't come on although the lighter gets hot when I try that.
Any thoughts?

Try the dash cam adaptor in another vehicle to just make sure that's working

I have tried that and it does work in the other car.
Also, where the chuff is the auxiliary port?
It might be a small car, but difficult to find things.

I have similar issues. A tyre inflator that works perfectly when plugged into my wifes golf won't work on either of my e89 cigarette sockets (under the arm rest or in the ashtray). Both sockets do work though.

I have be advised that a power bank would solve my problem. We will wait and see.

Hardwire it to a switched live - makes life much easier

I've burnt out two usb adapters too. The lighter socket seems a bit buggy.
