Cigarette lighter

Hi, I've just bought a 55 plate Z4 and find that NONE of my accessories that plug into the cigarette lighter will fit the BMW socket. Does anyone know of either an adapter or a replacement that will fit the car and all my UK standard accessories.

All mine fit fine too!

I have also fitted an expansion socket so I can plug in three things at the same time. Could probably find the details if req. You can also get them from Halfords etc.

There is also kit somewhere that relocates the socket to the access panel below the air con controls...

That's odd. I have lots of different things that fit from in car phone chargers to tyre inflators. I suspect something is wrong with the socket, unless I am misunderstanding the thread
Long shot but are you sure there is not something jammed or broken off in there?
 
None of my stuff fit mine when I first got it and I asked the service department to look into it when I took it in for service. They replaced the lighter socket and everything works now.

The odd part is that the lighter itself did work although nothing else would. I looked carefully at the tip of the lighter and noticed that the plastic ring down near the tip was much smaller that the other things I had for lighter sockets.
 
Thanks guys. There was something jammed in the socket, now removed and everything is fine.
