cigarette lighter socket

I was topping up my tyre pressures with a tyre inflator - 3 down 1 to go when the tyre inflator lost power - tried plugging in phone charger/tom tom into the cigarette socket and now nothing seems to work, not even the (never used) cigarette lighter.

I know from a search in here you have to push things in hard etc but tried all that and still no joy

Anybody know which fuses I need to check? Everything else in the car seems to work fine so unless it has its own fuse doubt that is a problem?

Any thoughts?

Yup - fuse number 5 - blown and replaced!

Its very nice of BMW to provide some spare fuses in the tool kit but digram of the fuse box does not have a key! I guess I could have worked it out by a process of elimination from the symbols that were more obvious...but fortunately Z4-forum the rescue again!
