Cigarette compartment won't open

Haven't seen this problem posted before, so hopefully people can provide some suggestions.

That little cover that you press down on to access the cigarette lighter and ash tray is not opening fully for me. The cover can be pressed closed & locked. But when I press it again to open it, it unlocks but only opens an inch or so. It's stuck on something that prevents it from opening up all the way.

My ash tray is full of coins. Is it possible that one of the coins fell back there and is keeping the cover from completely opening?

Anyways, this is the second time this happened. The first time, it resolved spontaneously after a few days. It was fine for months until recently.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Coin down the back by the sounds, not sure how you are going to get round this one, can only suggest youy try jiggling it around to see if you can move it.

I've just had this and my advice for people on here is...

DO NOT OVERLOAD COINS IN THE TRAY

I've spent an hour trying to get 2 coins out from the back and have succeeded in ripping my fingers to shreds and breaking the cover to the tray

Got the coins out though

I'm hoping I can re attach the tray or I will be needing a new part (if it's possible to buy this?)

Take the whole ashtray out and use a pair of needle nose pliers if necessary to get the coin out. :D

Anybody used these people before, they look to have a lot of stuff for the Zed...
