I am looking into having multiple sets of Z4 caliper springs stripped/polished/chromed. I have located a potential supplier in the Midwest that has some open production time to process these. I am trying to react to take advantage of this "opening" and would like to see if there is any interest here on this board for them. It will most likely be a one time situation, so once the situation is closed...it may be closed for another 2 years (that was the last time he would run any). So if you are interested let me know. I will try to get the lot size large enough to cover minimums and close it off at that quantity. I will work with this outfit next week on that and obviously final pricing for a set (f & R), excluding shipping charges.

Check out your Z4's springs, if they match these then you can get in on this. I will not be processing any other type of caliper springs.
Here is a photo of the set I installed on my car:

Too funny! I just looked up the clip pricing the other day (just under 30 bucks for the set) and just found out where Strong stut does there chrome plating here in my town. I just haven't had the time to call them to get their pricing for small runs. So if things don't work out on your end, let me know and I'll move forward here in AZ. Feel free to PM me.

One question on the installation of these. Obviously, with the springs removed, it's the perfect opportunity to paint the calipers. So, can you remove the clips without bleeding the brakes? If this is the case, then I can
1. remove the wheels
2. mask the area
3. remove the clips
4.clean the calipers
5.paint them
6. INSTALL beautiful chrome clips!

You missed one very important task in that procedure:

Clean......Clean......Clean:
everything with every chemical ever invented to remove brake dust/dirt/oil/tar/anything else from the surfaces to be coated (painted).

W/ the brake dust, that would be hell to keep looking clean ducky..worse then having black paint, but if anyone can pull it off, it would be you..cheers dood..

I have thought about painting my calipers and this would definetly set them off. How hard is it to remove/reinstall the springs? Any special tools required?

I'd certainly look to a set, but as with everything custom worked like this, price is the decider.

I could act as a distribution point in the UK if other over here are interested as it would reduce the total shipping costs somewhat

I am with cjcreeper on this one, if he gets some I will tag on (assuming they fit on a M?)

Ok - just checked the back and they are different already (317)

mine (Z4M R) have 317 stamped on them too. The fronts have 161 on them

According to RealOEM.com The BMW part numbers for the Z4M seem to be

34112227670 front
34212282198 rear

Anyway, if we can get some in the UK I'm def interested

I have a set of chromed clips on my ///m and disappointingly they are showing signs of surface rust, either that or it is rust "bleeding" from the calipers.

Also when positioned they are tricky to reach and keep clean....

Not worth it in my honest opinion.
