Does anyone know where I can buy a chrome tailpipe for a 2.0 Z4 (2008 Model) with the standard single oval exhaust?

I can't find anything through google - is this a gap in the market or something?????

Welcome,
Take a look underneath. I have a feeling that the oval actually covers a pair of round pipes out of the rear box. You could get any custom exhaust shop to chop it off and fit something twin or chromed

Unfortunately I can't check as I have not had the car delivered yet! Another week before it arrives!! :)

Will look into that though, sounds like a good plan - anyone else had any experiance of actually fitting an exhaust trim to a 2,0 Z4?

Yep, had one myself on the old Z4 (2007) - 10-15 pounds from the dealer. Slip it on the end and there's a screw on the underside to fix it in place. couldn't be easier.

As above Bmw do sell a chrome trim for that exhaust. Not sure about the new shape now though.

Cheers

It's the easiest and one of the best little mod's you can do.
I bought one from somebody on here and now whenever I see 2.0 without I cringe! Good choice!
Also presume you have a stubby on order too?

Real OEM link......

Considering the chrome exhaust as my first mod for my zed as it seems to be a simple and affordable mod. I have a few questions though (sorry if they are obvious!)

1. Is this the OEM part which is now quoted at £60 on the BMW website?!

2. Is it easy to install? I.e would I, someone with very little technical and diy ability be able to do it?

3. Does the new exhaust affect performance or sound in any way? Wouldn't mind a little extra noise to be honest.

Thanks all

Hi Mikee_j,
Answers for you...
1) No it's not £60, just £30. You can see the part here (part 2 for the 2.0)
and buy it online from here. If you contact Sopers BMW (search the forum for details) you may be able to get a small discount.
2) The trim is the easiest mod ever, there's one screw and and the trim fits over the pipe like a glove.
3) It makes no difference to the performance or sound whatsoever but makes it look much smarter.

Good mod and nice car!

Thanks mrgringo... Perfect.

Will be ordering at lunch time and hopefully install this weekend. Looks 100 times better than the original tailpipe!!

1. Not sure about the price but £60....are you sure they are looking at the right part?
2. Easy - slips over the original tail pipe and a simple tightening of a bolt secures the piece in place.
3. Doesn't alter anything.

I am after the first exact chrome exhaust trim for my 2008 2.0 zed!

As this thread is about 6 years old does anyone know if this is still around the £30 mark and still available from likes of Sopers?

My current exhaust looks awful and seems like a simple mod
