chrome tail pipes

Hi guys

I was recently bought some tail pipe covers for my 06 2.5i roadster part number 82 12 0 151 088 however I was going to fit them the other day but they seem a little loose. ie they just slide on and do not hug the original pipe at all and would only be held on by the small retaining screw. I seem to remember other people talking about having to wd40 and gently hammer on to fit theirs. Can anyone tell me if this is the right part? and if so are they just held by the small retaining screw. Any advice would be appreciated.

looking at http://www.realoem.com looks like you have the wrong parts, I took a gamble on an august 06 model.

might want to take a look yourself to be sure.

Is your car a facelift or not? If you read this http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1540&p=21448 there are two types of tips

The part number you quoted is for the pre-facelift, and the post-facelift part number is 18307551507.
 
Thanks guys. As suspected it looks like ive got the wrong tail pipes. Mine is a facelift model so looks like ill have to sell these ones one and get the right ones. Any ideas on the best place for these things as these were bought for me from ebay, hence the wrong type lol.

Price them up at the dealer first, probably worth it to save messing around. Have you got a 2.5i or 2.5Si? Think they have the same part number anyway but worth checking.
