they dont look safe to me, never mind the fasion police being after you.

would you trust them to hold the weight of the car if you flipped it?

I assume these are covers, just like the ones on our cars at the moment, so wouldn't make a difference if you flipped.

they appear solid peice in the photos but i could certainly be wrong, if they are covers you will only need to worry about the fashion police :D

They'll without doubt be 2 part chromed metal covers that clip together, somewhat the same as the existing parts.
Of course as sp3ctre notes - not structural at all

They don't do it for me as all  More suited to an MG TF

I'd have to see those on a car but not sure that's the way to go at all! I think covering them in leather as in the 'extended' option would be the best look of all. Might try to get a local trimmer to give me an estimate. too much plastic at the back of the cabin for me!

Shame cos I actually like them, but sadly I suspect I'd have to remove my wind deflector to have these....

Anyone removed the wind deflector AND hoop covers so I can get an idea of how painful a job it might be?

You would need to drill two holes in each front or reat cover (cant remember which) for the mounting bracket bolt to pass through to attach to the real roll bars. You would also need to create a number of slots to take the smaller panels again in either the front or rear of each cover.

I haven't looked; so the brackets fit to the rollbar do they and not the covers?

You can compromise - the Chrome-line, part # 51437043843 $54.41 each.

if they are a smoked chrome they would be cool and would enhance the look of some cars.

the cheap boy racer style chrome just looks cheap and tacky

i wonder if those are easy to take off on your own. the realoem says they must be handled by professional... wouldn't want to set off anything.. Do they shoot up if car flips?

The roll hoops are fixed on the Zed. No danger of them moving

well, then just take them apart, take some CF cloth fabric, some reisin or even strong glue, wrap them in the fabric and then clearcoat, polish and voila - you got yourself a fine looking set of carbon fibre roll hoops. Can't be I'm the first one to think of it, but if I had a Z right now, this would be one of my first mods. :D All this chrome-plastic stuff is just not on.

OR have them trimmed in leather like on the M roadster - i think it's just makes the whole thing so much nicer.
