Christmas!!

So the forum seems to have been a bit serious recently. With failing turbo builds projects being sold and donations not being used as intended!! Not to mention immigration threads. So hears a lighter thread for some Christmas fun and sharing plans and decoration ideas.

So i know its early but Mrs Monkey loves Christmas. And who am i to tell her not to put them up in November!! I know the secret to a happy life and that's a happy wife! So yesterday we put our tree up and other decorations. I hope you like :D

Not even the dog escaped. Although he seems to love his jumper.

And as its a car forum. I had an early Christmas present/late birthday present from my great mate Chris. An oil cooler
So over Christmas when we are not working on the V8 supra build we shall be putting bigger front discs and calipers and braided lines on my car. The oil cooler fixing the roof. And if the parts come in time. A new steering rack and pump on from a 330.

Nice one Matt - Hokey Cokey ? - reminds me of the name of our house - Oakidoki - 28 years ago we moved in - surrounded by oak trees and every other house called Oak something - thought this name would at least be different

As for Xmas - I have yet to rummage through the loft to find all the decs and untangle all the tree lights - Mrs Gov loves a family xmas and as you say you have to keep the good lady happy :D :D

Just spent the weekend down in London with the wife and brother/sister in law. Spent Sat visiting the Winter Wonder Land in Hyde park, followed by a visit to Harrods xmas dept. Spot of lunch then on to watch Charlie And The Chocolate Factory at the theater, cracking show, then to some other place (i forget the name) for a spot of ice skating outdoors.

I usually hate London, but it was deceptively pleasant given the time of year. Though i fear recent events have something to do with that.

Looks like your Christmas tree is being attacked by some kind of genetically mutated Yucca plant.

Yeah that plant is/was very cool. But we have managed to kill it!!! It has been in the wife's family for 30 years. There where to of them and they had been placed next to a fish tank. Well they kind of grew toward the light of the uv tank. And then when they where moved they then grew upwards. They where really cool. Until we managed to kill them :(

Looks fab Mat! I'm looking forward to setting up our Christmas living room, it was amazing last year with the fresh tree and lights, mega cosy. We are hoping to compete with the neighbours this year and get some kind of lit up reindeer to put outside the front of the house - any idea where I can get one?? Will add some pics when we are all set up.

That sounds like a great day! Might have to plan one similar. So far we are booked to go to The Kew Gardens event - "Christmas at Kew", next week, looking forward to that :)

Went to see the show a couple of months ago Simon, you can't beat live theatre can you.

Oooh nice log burner Matt, don't they just bang some heat out. End of a cold wet day, close the curtains, fire the burner up and feet up, glass or two of something pleasant, who needs the telly...

Sounds amazing Simon what a great sounding weekend?

Absolutely love the wood burner. Like you say close the curtains and relax

It was thoroughly enjoyable, though i am informed by my brother in law that the closer you get to Christmas the more unbearable London gets...

Looking very seasonal. I recall we visited Blenheim Palàce in early Dec last year and it was decked out for a major league Christmas party for some lucky sods. They had reindeer walking around the entracedrive way. Certainly got us it the Christmas mood. :D
