Morning, sorry not been around for a while, it's a looong story!...
So on my son's Christmas list is "Denison iPod integration system"
He has 56 plate Z4M
Any chance someone can point me in the right direction?

£169 - wow, was hoping for a bit less...
Don't get me wrong, willing to spend; but that won't include the fitting and that could well be the same again!
Is it easy to self fit?
 
Easy to fit, not the best integrated system in the world, especially if the car has navigation.

FYI - Ibix has an Intravee and Alpine combo for sale that would be best suited for a car with nav.

Just had a look at the thread from ibix, prob because I am not technically minded; but it does sound a little complicated. Yes his Z4MC has nav so this might be the way to go. Not convinced I should be buying second hand though...
 
TopDMC, the intravee / Alpine set up is dead easy to fit, just fiddly threading wires. I managed it and I am not technical at all. As for second hand - generally the bits sit behind the seats in the boot, and in my case the Alpine unit is under the passenger seat. They don't get abused where they are, and the only thing you may need to do is update the firmware on the intravee, which I also managed - there's loads of instructions. You can get very techie with it if you want to - the threads scared the hell out of me too - but if you just want to install and forget then it's very simple.

Sounds like great advice, only I am not the one fitting it, I know he will want me to help though...

Quick question, does the iPhone also plug in?
If yes, is there a new adapter for the 5?
 
If you need help installing happy to give advice, I host the Intravee updates and docs.

You need the following:
1. Intravee to be connected to CD plugs in boot.
2. Alpine unit with cables between Intravee.
3. Power convertor
4. Iphone / iPod extension cable.

The above will allow you to play music off phone Through car as well as charge it, Intravee gives you loads of extra option to play with car settings.
I.E. Welcome and home lights, triple blink indicators, sat nav zoom, vehicle status and more.

Best option by far.
