I'd like to think he saw it wasn't working. Having read his 2 autobiographies, he's no fool (despite the way he might come across).

Possibly other factors in this......the investigation into him 'exposing' himself to a female he work with for 2 years. Given he has publicly said he likes to do that, it's gonna be a difficult one to possibly disprove.
But figures haven't been great. Last nights was 1.9million but then the euros was always gonna be a difficult one to follow. So I assume Matts staying then!

Yes, I find it hard to believe his alleged previous antics hitting the news the same day as he announces his departure from Top Gear is coincidental!
Good news really - it's been mostly the bits he did that I didn't like, so if Matt takes over and they keep the others that'll suit me fine!
