Chris Evans is new Top Gear presenter

I think it's a great appointment. A true PetrolHead with an amazing collection. He knows his stuff and will repect the cars a bit more. I think we will see a return to the old top gear where the cars were the stars

It should work ok I reckon, Evans and the possible Plato know the job and cars, the format will surely change and focus more on cars rather than the, admittedly often amusing, tomfoolery that went on before. A lot of members on here we're complaining that it had had it's day and needed to end so maybe it'll work well.

Personally I'll miss the old guard but it might be just what was needed.

Let's hope the 3 Berks do their show on another station and we get the best of both worlds.

With characters like Clarkson & Evans you need a stooge & James May played that off so well .
I like the guy on Fifth Gear Jonny Smith , knowledgeable & always comes across as interested, sincere & above all doesn't appear like he's up his own arse :? YET  he builds his own car's so must have some technical expertise as with May , he could step up & not look out of place

Will be interesting to see how the show turns out. Unfortunately I am no fan of Chris Evans, in fact he rather irritates me somewhat if you hadn't already noticed

Had noticed and totally agree with you Swifty. But he is a major Petrol Head and a seasoned presenter, so lets hope. :)

It might return to being a decent motoring programme instead of 3 has-beens pissing about.

Totally agree with this too, Tom. Though I love Jeza the show was loosing it's way for me. :tumbleweed:

I'm willing to give it a fair chance as long as it's a 'car show presented by Chris Evans' rather than a 'car-themed Chris Evans show'

Whoever presents it there will always be someone who doesn't like it/them.

As said body said we could end up with two shows, hopefully at least one of them will be good.

Maybe add a female presenter/driver
Jodie Kidd or that German women that did the Nurburgring track piece.

Both annoyingly gobby & not overly attractive ,
If they must have a token woman on the show at least let her be proper eye candy :P we need a modern day VBH , unfortunately she's blown a gasket compared to her early days
Just watching this again makes me realise where the current shows have lost their way :D

Now that would keep the audience figures up :D
Who is the modern day VBH?

Its a simple formula but for the bulk of the audience so very effective , a fast car, a great pair of fairy pillows & a plump rear end  i'm in , where do i sign ?
