choosing oil for self servicing my 3.0si

I am going to give my 3.0si a oil service very soon and am looking to put the thinnest oil I can in there. Currently there is Edge 5-30 in there which I think is the recommended (or is it Edge 0-30?) but I have read and heard that there are better oils out there and thinner ones compared to the Edge 0-30 at that too. What does anybody recommend if they dont use the Castrol Edge? Mobil1?

I read somewhere on the forum here that there is another unit for measuring the thinness of a oil other than the viscosity grade..but I couldnt find the thread again..doh. If I recall rightly, using this measurment a certain oil of 0-30 grade was actually thinner than the Edge 0-30 grade. Does this make sense anyone who knows what they are talking about?

Ok thanks. Anyone else any opinons?

Im looking at Motul 8100 in either 0-30 or 0-40 form, what would be the differnce with the 30 and 40 for the N52 engine? Or the Castrol Edge Sport 0-40? Trying to stay away from the Edge 0-30.
