Chirp / Rattle of gear changes - 35iS : Wastegate ?

Tesco 99 is great. I use that or VPower exclusively.

From the limited reliable information available on the internet about those fuels it seems that Tesco99 achieves it's octane rating by adding ethanol whereas VPower uses other chemicals. Swings and roundabouts.

The N54 engine loves ethanol (I think most turbo engines do) and it seems to like Tesco99 a little more than VPower.

Mine does a exhaust flap rattle on startup every time when completely cold, but only lasts a couple of seconds then goes away, its done this almost from day one but never hear it again that day or until next startup, it comes after the initial noisy start as the flap closes and the exhaust goes quieter.
Doesn't bother me, just wondered if they all did it?

Exhaust flap rattle can be quite common, easy fix is to just unplug it lol, the flap only stays closed for 30 secs anyways on cold start. Only solution really is a new backbox depending how accommodating your dealer is.
