I took the Z4 into Chips Away in Reading after reading a good review on PistonHeads. There is actually a Chips Away franchise with a paint shop both owned and run by the same guy... when I arrived they had in a 997, DB9, M3 and Discovery! My car aside they did a fantastic job with a bonnet respray on a new dark blue M3 - the BMW standard orange peel effect matched perfectly.
My work... I had two car park scrapes on the front bumper, 3 dings in the passenger door, small stone chips all over and marks on all of the wheels. After talking it through we Steve the owner I decided on paintless dent removal, the bumper removed and resprayed, the chips touched in all four wheels refurbished (tyre on). It was around £350 + £50 per wheel. Going around the car Steve explained what was possible and at what cost and encouragingly explaining where I wouldn't necessarily see a noticeable return for the extra expense.
I did take some before pics but they weren't very good. Anyway, here's the after - the bumper is excellent (there was a 3" graze, down to black between the fog light and headlight), wheels very good and passenger door entirely ding free...
Given that silver is meant to be the hardest colour to match the bumper is blended perfectly.
Only negative was the car was a little dusty inside and out and needed a bit of a clean, but frankly I’m happy to let them do a great job and I can do a spot of cleaning.
