"chippy run" to the best chippy in U.K.? 8th Sept. 2013.

I know it's last minute but I'm not going to make this run. I'm totally gutted as I was looking forward to this but had a manic day helping a friend move house & were no-where near finished so going to be finishing up shifting furniture tomorrow! The joys! Hope you all have a great run & lovely chippy!

Jealous - love a good fish supper. Have a great time guys, play safe but 'woooooooooohooooooooo !!!' :driving:

Sad I can't make this guys, sounds like it'll be a good one! I've some 6-pot AP's to fit tomorrow instead

I'm still up for it.

Jax and Malc - see you 10.30 at the red house

I won't make it confirmed. Hooning in Northumberland chillaxing . Pity fancy a fish supper

I'm REALLY sorry guys but we have to pull out of this run at the very last minute -something I've never done. Malc - I appreciate you had changed the date too but the harsh reality we face is that as we head off on holiday on Thursday our workloads are huge over next few days with evening commitments every night and we just can't find the 11 hours or so this run will take us. We're almost 2 hours each way from the start / finish point which normally is of little issue.

We did try earlier in the week to find a hotel nearby for Saturday night but due to some local events everything in a huge radius was either full or crazily priced.

So apologies again and hope you have a great time anyway.

I'm already wondering if there is an appetite for a run on the weekend around 29th Sept which is a bit of a holiday weekend for some in Scotland. Wide open to route ideas and will post separately - Adamski I know you also spoke of trying to fit another in so maybe we can co-ordinate ?

29th is out for me as its SWMBO birthday

Hope you have a good one Malcolm and Adam - the roads will be worth it as will the chips . Sound like your Hols will be appreciated when they come Jax .

Working tomorrow so can't make it out

We had an excellent run this weekend in ideal conditions - apart from two minor hiccups.
When we got up Glenshee to the turn off for Isla we found the old bridge was closed and a new one being built. So we doubled back a few miles to Blacklunans and got over the hills to Glen Isla - spotting some llamas in a field on the way.
No problems up to Cairn o Mount, and we stopped on the way at Clattering Brig for coffees.
Just before the start of the slug road, when confronted with two roads signs, both saying Stonehaven - I chose the wrong one!
The road we took was a nice one anyway. I should have done a reccie....
Needless to say the fish at The Bay fish & chip shop was superb and very tasty - I liked the added touch of a slice of lemon.
Thanks to Adam and Kirsty for joining me.
If you weren't there - then you missed it!
