Been sitting on the fence a while about whether or not to chip tune my engine (30i) mainly due to the costs I was being quoted (around 300€ and up) and the small potential power gains. I have been chatting to my local Celtic agent on and off for a while now who finally caved in to my super bargaining powers  and agreed to do it for a price I was happy with.
On my first drive after having it chipped I could feel there was something changed but it didn't feel night and day and I was plondering on its merits, the Celtic agent suggested I give it a couple of days of more driving and if I still didn't think it made a difference he could put it back to stock.
Having now had it for a few days and covered a few miles, I can confirm that it indeed does make a big difference the car drives a lot a better and feels way more repsonsive with less lag in every situation. I have noticed, in the past at certain junctions or roads where I would previously have to put the car into sport or manually downshift now I can leave it in comfort and it will pull swiftly and cleanly.
Overall I am very happy with it, but I still don't think I would want to pay the original price though. Next to update the front suspension, hopefully next month.
