Chinese Android Tablets - Which is best value?

Any experience for the tech gurus out there?

I am used to the Ipad3 but considering getting one of these since relatively cheap and all apps are free on them.

Might also get a couple as XMAS presents.

What do you suggest?

Go cheaper and you'll be buying something far inferior. The nexus has Google backing, so you know its going to deliver in all ways.

The screen seemed to be very clear but not sure about viewing magazines.

I have a kindle 4 for me use it all the time. Fantastic for books but black and white.

Kindle fire hd is a full featured Android tablet

It is does everything, will load google play so he can buy some apps.

Wont beat the ipad 3/4 at least screen wise but value for money is good.

I might buy one for me as well since the Ipad is in the hands of the wife but will probably get the higher screen resolution version.
