Child Seats and the Z4

Anyone know what the legal situation is regarding kids in the passenger seat (Presume Ireland and UK rules fairly close). I have a 3.5yo with a full car seat and floor bar in the middle. All very secure, my only worry is that I don't have an air bag cut off switch. But are they only for rearward facing car seats?
