Chicken noise

Hi, needing help,I have a 2016 2l 20i Z4..
Every time I open the doors or put the roof down I have a clicking noise under the bonnet,I think it might be a relay switch coming of my interior lights.
Any suggestions??

Chicken noise............

Yes, keep abreast of it and look out for any nuggets of information on here.

Welcome to the forum BTW.

Regarding clicking noise,I have been informed it maybe my vvti motor, would this be right??

I ‘d try again, the N20 engine uses oil pressure to change the valve timing, no relays..but some solenoids..

Very few relays used on the 20i..

Does the noise occur with or without the engine running?

Yes, whether it's on or not when I open doors or roof the clicking noise starts, lasts for about 2 seconds.
Noise seems to come from under the bonnet on passengers side.

Engine running?

Engine not running?

automatic spelling correction....should be clicking noise...

Easily done, we have all fallen "fowl" of it, no matter the pecking order and ended up with egg on our faces.

It’s a new one on me, I’ve never heard of a clucking noise from these cars, did you say it was a coop?

OK then OP,
Let's try to be more constructive for a second...................
Can you pop the bonnet open and get someone to listen while you go through the normal open/close routine?
They may be able to pinpoint where the noise is coming from.

Always easier if there's two of you chicken it over....................................... well, you had the second I promised. :D

Maybe it would help if the op feathered the clutch?
