Top Gear tested both M3 and Puris. If you don't drive M3 hard, its mpg is better than Puris.

A BMW forum member changed his 911 for a M3, and I asked him about mpg. All other forum members said people buying M cars don't really care about mpg at all.

But it seems that most of us here talk about mpg all the times. I have to say I will consider mpg/CO2 when buying M cars or other supercars.

The new M5 has 560hp and can do nearly 29 mpg. Impressive. :thumbsup:
 
If an M (or other car of this nature) is a weekend car then mpg shouldn't be a consideration, but unless you are loaded, then the mpg in an M daily driver must be considered. For me, it's a daily driver but I don't cover many miles so didn't put me off.

The claimed M5 mpg is very impressive indeed. Not sure about a turbo M but suppose time will tell if they are going to be as good as the NA M's, but I won't be changing for a long time I can guarantee you that!

Totally agree. I wouldn't buy a M car and only drive it at weekend. I will seriously consider a used M3 coupe/saloon with M-DCT and EDC. :)
 
A wee update on the M3 for anyone that is interested.....

MPG - have to say that I've stopped calculating by hand but computer says 17.8. Considering almost all my daily drive is town/city then I don't consider that too bad. Can get up to 30 if driving miss daisy on an A/M road but who the hell is daisy anyway?? :evil:
Driving - an all round joy. So smooth and calm when u want it to be then just floor it and it's a beast! The noise is unbelievable - I don't live anywhere near the Clyde tunnel in Glasgow but somehow manage to go through it at least once a week just so I can get the windows down and floor it. My two year old actually gets upset if I don't drop the windows and "make big noise daddy!".
I have to say that the car gets a lot of attention and most of it is good. Though for some reason people are always trying to beat you in some way e.g. pulling away at lights etc. I just let them win though. Usually :evil: .

Overall, I'm delighted. Do I miss my Zed? Yes! But who wouldn't. I can't really compare the two cars as they are so different - the zed was so nimble and light (in comparison) and I loved sitting at the rear wheels. And that profile..... still love it. I haven't seen another car with a profile I like more than a Z4C.
Would I swap back? Nae chance!
 
you have bought a prestige classy four seater coupe awesome performance brilliant engine great looks its the perfect car . . wise choice to buy now when its lost half its original price it will hold its price well from now on for the rest of the life of the car
