cheeky sods day!

today has been filled with cheeky sods...

started with the girl in the office getting pulled for 68 in a 40 and only getting a fine of £50...... it was her birthday and the copper said he couldnt give her a fine and points on her birthday so changed the 3pts and £100 to just a £50 fine. if that had been me in the Z then i would have probably been given 6 points or something daft.

then my car ins is due tonight. esure was quoting £605 the rest was going at the 450 mark. i phoned them and they "offered" me it for 560 so politely i said to not bother the renewal to be told that they had already taken the money from my card. i would get a refund in a few days.... cheeky sods i paid with a credit card last year and didnt think they could do that. anyway she confirmed i would get a full refund.

i then retireve a quote from money supermarket by logging on to the site that i did on tuesday. a nice acceptable £440. only for all the quotes to jump to 700+
go compare did a similar thing! SODS!

i managed to retrieve the quote and bought it online.

what a day of cheeky sods!

Didn't know the insurers pulled the same stunt as plane and train fares - that is, the closer you leave it to the deadline the more expensive it gets....

Just to make you day, I got my insurance renewal halved by negotiation

Sorry....

Fair enough they changed the fine from points to just a fine but what did they do her for?
Surely if its speeding it comes with points automatically, as in fixed penalty, and its not up to the cops whether they can change it to just a fine.

Maybe the copper taught her a lesson some other way?

oh lordy ! :) no idea what/how they fined her she just said they didn't. from where she said it was i think the points was a bit of a scare tactic. tbf and to put it a bit in context the road is one of the runcorn express ways so are usually 60 but at the moment due to the huge amount of building work going into the new mersey bridge this road goes through the middle of one of the sites, there is no work on the road itself as such just all in the land adjoining the road. most traffic goes through at 50 anyway. shes a pretty enough blond with a scouse brow driving a fiat 500 and it was mid morning and clear.

im happy enough with the 440 for my insurance, liverpool is unfairly targeted for insurance these days but its a historical thing. noting will get it much lower than that so hey ho £40 per month is fine.

Fair one, doesn't sound as bad the single carriageway, putting lippy on that I envisaged! And from the sound of it, the answer to my question was yes! Copper must have thought so.

still a bit annoying tho as if that had been me in the Z i would have got many points for sure.
