So. I was looking at the BMW used website and happened upon a 69 plate (Sept 19), 8000 miler in SFR with white leather. It had Comfort+, tech, MSport Pro and visibility packs and it was at BMW Park Lane, where I bought my E89. It was up for £34,440.00 so I thought that I would register an interest.
Got a call back from a sales guy who asked what I wanted to do. I said that I had an 2016 E89 which I had purchased from Park Lane 23 months ago, that I had put less than 4000 miles on it in that time and was interested in a PX deal on the G29.
He called me back later in the evening to tell me that he and his manager had chatted, and they valued my car at £12,000.00!!! I told him that was the reason that they are called stealers, and that, for comparison there was a 2016 18i MSport, albeit with less than 17000 miles, auto and comfort pack, but with no satnav/prof radio/idrive and 18" alloys, on another BMW dealers site and that was up for £17,000.00 and that effectively, he would have my car up for sale for at least £16,000.00 within days, making himself a healthy £4000.00 profit and selling a £34,440 car in the process. He said that he would look at it and get back to me. I told him not to bother!
You would think that in the current climate, that dealers would be keen to shift stock and do deals, but it looks like I will have to put up with driving the E89 (Which is noooooo problem at all!)
