Cheddar Gorge crash

So was nice weather last night thought I'd catch the sun for abit in the Z l. Went up to cheddar gorge parked up for abit. Seen a Ford fiesta coming down the hill starting to swerve lost control went up a crash verge and flipped over. Three girls trapped in the car one managed to climb out other 2 were still inside managed to get a group of us to flip it back over onto its wheels and get them out. Was not a nice thing to see but was glad to see everyone was ok. Makes you think everyone be safe put there!

The Gorge is popular with youngsters trying to improve their diving skills, glad those 3 are okay

I've done something similar before, pulling a bloke out through the window of an overturned car. It's amazing how your mind totally clears and basic survival instinct just takes over in these situations. Well done DanStarr 8)

Glad to hear all was well, however to play devils advocate i probably would have left the people/car where it was until properly assessed in case of causing further injury. That said i do not know the circumstances, and indeed if the car was in a dangerous spot or there was fuel etc then its a different story.

Yeah that's a good point which I thought about afterwards one guy which I think knew them was trying to smash the windscreen. You could tell they were more in shock than injured. Just reminds me why I always take it steady through the gorge plus the goats!

Nice one Dan

Did you suggest that they should replace their banged up fiesta with a Z, and then join he forum ? We need more girls on here :D

as much of a good job you did, and a helpful one at that, be very wary of insurance claimers..
ok so they all got out, but the energy caused both first collision, and secondary from being tipped back could have killed one or more had that been suffering unknown C spine damage.

i used to do "first on scene" instructing for the BMW club a few years ago, as i, well i wont go into my job, but i deal with things that public really dont want to see, and everyone gets all giddy, some dont want to help, and others who are trained to stick a plaster on are chomping at the bit to get hands on.
Be careful with what you think is right

I completely agree I will keep this in mind if I've ever in that situation again. I didn't hang around long after it happened.

After seeing her driving skills I was going to recommend a bus pass more than trash a Z4!
