You might have one of these lurking in there

I was on a classic car run with my stag just before Xmas. At the end we had dinner in a local pub/restaurant. The folk we dined with had a lovely Aston DB2. Get chatting cars as you do and it turned put the his car has been in the family since 1962 and was the actual car Ian Fleming was inspired by when he gave James bond his Aston. Not the model the actual car as bond originally drove a DB2 in the first editions! Apparently.

My late uncle lived in Sidford but sadly didn't leave any classic cars behind. :( Seriously, there are some very rich retired people in the Sidmouth/Sidford/Sidbury area so this 'garage find' doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

I thought the inspiration for James Bond driving an Aston came from a fans letter? Think that was mentioned in Richard Hammond's Bond car special?

I can't pass an old looking garage or barn without wondering - there are a few I cycle past off the beaten track that are overgrown and look like they haven't been visited in years - you never know?! :)

Don't know perhaps both have an element of truth. I'm just passing on a tale related by an Aston owner with 50 years of provenience
