CHECK YOUR DISA NOW!!!! pics inside

Good tip. I think I might check my DISA and soft top drains this w/e. Hopefully I wont need to spend any money

i dont belive the M// have it... but i could be wrong... its fairly easy to check if you open your bonnet.

i just cant belive how close that could have been to game over for the engine..the top pin was almost half way out too, and clearly had been for a while as it was all shinney at the top :S

for anyone thats interested

number 7 is what you want - part number 11617544805
cost is about £140

Yikes, this sounds pretty scary stuff! Has my 53 plate 2.5 got one of these things on it? I think I have an m54 engine so I'm guessing I do! Might have to check this out. Is it easy to do for us non mechanics?

easy peasy.. im a girl lol

just remove the airbox elbow and there are 2 torx bolts holding the unit in.. they require a T40 bit... most tool kits only go up to T30 but i got one from halfords in a kit for £9.99, got a few other bits with it.
and it just pulls out

A girl you say? As in a female type person? Wow, I am impressed
I'll see if I can muster up the courage to take my Z apart this weekend then

Ha, I bet you're one of these girlies who can strip down and dismantle an engine then put it back together again in the time it takes me to check my oil level

needs a bit more than that

Looks like a golf.

£140 sounds a bit steep - will check my invoice from last month when I get home this evening
