Check my ride height please..

I've had the car a couple of years and I always thought the rear looked too high, looking at the MOT history it failed for a snapped near side spring and I am wondering if the wrong springs were fitted (presuming they replaced both). I don't want to go down the route of coilovers or lowering springs if buying some OEM rear springs will cure it, but I have no frame of reference to check against.

What's the Forums opinion? (Yes I know the disks are rusty, I've not used the car over the winter :) )

Oh and it is a Sport, not an SE.

Seems a fair bet you don’t have the shorter sports springs on the rear. Good news is they are a very simple swap.

Well, thats confirmed then, new set of OEM springs it is. Looking at Autodoc and EuroCarParts I presume I want the "with M technology" version? or is that for the Z4M...? would the normal 3.0si be "with sports suspension".

Looked at Autodoc on your behalf and assuming you go for Suplex (most people seem to), then you need the '06231' for vehicles with sports suspension.

Much appriciated, I will look forward to paying double what they were a few years ago now!

If the old ones are in decent condition and a good make then you may be able to sell them on.

I’ve got Msport on the front and standard on the rear as well! I was sold a set of allegedly Msport rears but turn out they weren’t. Maybe I’ll change them one day.

I couldn't see any markings on them when I had a look but they could well be covered over with dust. I'll have a look when I get them off. Just ordered the Suplex's off Autodoc with a 5% promo code and 8.5% topcashback, so could be worse I guess.

I have been annoyed by it for two years and today something just made we want to get it done! I remember changing the rear springs in my wifes roadster and it wasn't hard to do, so no idea why I have left it so long!

That definitely isn't sitting right at the back, so probably does have SE rear springs.

My 3.0Si Sport looked like this.

Chiming in regarding this topic as well to get some expert opinions on what you think is the setup here. So my Z4 supposedly has the M sport springs however, im doubting now. I bought the car 3 years ago with the front right spring broken. garage replaced it and the front was a bit higher, thought it would settle in

Got the new springs fitted and the car looks a lot better. God knows what spring or springs they fitted in the last ownership but they were not right. Car sits nicely for now..
