Actually, if you speak french you can pretty much read anything in italian fairly easily unless it's from one of these dialect spoken in the South of Italy. The italian spoken in Northern Italy resembles a lot french.

five years of spanish between high school and college and all i've ever used it for is to order fast food. Didn't take German, and of course the company sends me to Germany. The funniest part of me in a foreign country is trying to order lunch at McDonalds in Wales.
