Bought a similar one a while back for £10-ish. Turned it on, lasted less than a day before the screen stopped working. Hopefully, yours lasts better

To be honest I've spent upward of 100 quid on dash cams in the past and they haven't lasted so trying a different tact of buying as cheap as possible

A taxi driver hit / shattered the Audi mirror (glass only) a few weeks back with Mrs PVR driving it. I have it on the dash cam, but what can you do? The driver stopped and offered insurance details - but what good is that as the claim through insurance would hammer your premiums despite not being your fault?

Replaced it myself for a tenner in the end.

Completely agree to be honest, a claim is a claim regardless and the insurer will use it as any excuse to raise the premium. I baulked when I had a hit and run on the rear bumper of the M135i, my premium went up from 465 to 810 through BMW Insurance/Allianz even though it was a non fault claim. I do wish now I had a rear facing cam but wonder if it had made any difference if I had caught the reg plate of the offender.

I was looking at the mobius too, I think the one I was looking at is £199 as I prefer the smaller descreit cams but there are so many on the market like speed detecters theres too much choice and I'm wary that spending more means better with these types of things as I bet all the internals are Chinese anyways. I currently have a Mini 803 I think it is which is nice and small but the thing freezes alot of the time and wasn't pennies to buy so disappointed with it. Haven't bothered putting it in the new car.

I'v been thinking of getting A Road Angel Halo. I'v had road angel stuff in the past and has always been reliable.
Any thoughts on these

Thanks pvr, I have tried a different card from another cam and it didn't make any difference, it doesn't do it all the time but when powered on at times it just freezes and you can't switch it off so have to leave it for the battery to run down, it runs extremely hot when it does this, I understand its a software glitch.

Did you wire one in yet Jan? I was looking at the options from TVR's 140 and had not found an easy setup yet.
