Hey all,

Currently in the market for a new set of coil packs.
I can see ML Performance have the latest Elder coils at £47.54 each / £285.24 a set of 6

Is there anywhere cheaper that these could be obtained from?
Is it worth importing them from the states?

Cheers

(It's good to see someone knowing the difference between OE and OEM. I was slated for it a while back.)

Thanks. Yeah not to sure about the OEM Eldor Coils vs OE Eldors. Lots of people in the States say the OEMs are fine, but others say they are not made to as tight tolerances to the OE ones. Not sure which is correct

For those who sit in enlightened contempt of those who don't know then please flame me...

But OE v OEM? OEM means the original ones BMW would have put on in the factory. But OE? :dizzy:

@Sunnydays hope you get it sorted mate.

Is it not the other way around, OE is what BMW would fit in the factory but OEM is the manufacturer who made the ones BMW fitted.

OE would in this case be the Original Equipment in the car.
The original coils being produced by Bosch, and BMW stamped and branded as an official "Bosch BMW Coil" for the car.

The OEM, being the Original Equipment Manufacturer.
Bosch produce the coils that BMW use, and these are available to buy much cheaper, IE £25 vs £50 a coil. While the part numbers are the exact same as the OE part, and I would expect it to be the same quality as the OE part, Some people online seem to believe that the parts that are sold to BMW are of "Higher Tolerance" and less likely to prematurely wear / misfire.

Lots of mixed opinions online about OE vs OEM despite being the same part number.

And thanks :)

Plugs I would suggest 30-40k miles. Coils as and when required as they don’t really wear out as such.
