Cheapest low mileage Si Coupe ever?

Occasionally I see these come up. Or rather, saw them come up when I was looking previously.

About 6 months back there was a 130k manual CSL toting coupe in black with red leather for 6. Unfortunately it went before I could raise the funds. Not long after a slightly ropey dealer looking car for five and a half with even more moon spec mileage.

As was evidenced recently by a black LSD fitted coupe changing hands for about 6 in the for sale section, I'm just not sure 8k cars are moving anymore...

Has to be a scam - you know one of those "I'm working in Norway at the moment but I can arrange shipping to the UK for you" sort of stories!

This one came to my attention while looking for mine. Has been on eBay and AT for ages. On eBay it was stated as being imported from Singapore, but no mention of that on AT.

No reserve auctions ending on eBay and then simply relisted. Always a worrying sign.

Far too many suspect things going on with this one for me to even consider it.

And as others have said - that roof and interior! :-o

Done a little digging, it is definitely a scam...

Couple of reasons, and they have been pretty clever with this one...

The phone number listed in the ad is clearly visible on the "bargain cars" sign on the fence, supposedly outside their dealership, however the 01635 44440 number also on the sign is for a different, legit concrete pumping firm..

There are no other cars listed for sale by the seller, which is strange as they "appear" to have a fair bit of stock in the pics

Also the car is taxed until Sept 18, so unless the owner of the business has taxed it to use, which I doubt as they'd just run it on red and whites.

And it's not showing on the MID, which it would if it had been in stock for this much time, even on a motor trade policy you do have to submit the details of stock cars to the MID at the earliest opportunity, unless the car is in your custody for a short period only.

So the old saying still works then.

If it looks too good to be true...........!

Well, I popped down to see if the unicorn coupe actually existed, and can confirm that it does. The car has some interesting front end panel gaps and overspray on the LH rear quarter, so may point to the previously proposed scenario that this is a previously damaged car.

However the guy selling it came across as a right arsehole and wasn’t prepared to discuss the history / origin of the car with anyone not directly interested in buying it! The dealer has quite a large ‘brownfield’ site with a good number of cars and a coach as his site office. The only thing missing was a couple of Rottweilers!

Anyway - I’d suggest avoiding this car like the plague!

Actually I went in my XC60, but still parked it around the corner!!

Another point of note - no VIN number visible behind the windscreen. Might be a regional thing if the car really has come from Malaysia but doesn’t help to make the car appear anything but dodgy!

Just done a VIN lookup on it, out of curiosity..

It IS a Singapore car, and as such doesn't have the visible VIN in the spec, it's also got a KM speedo.
