'cheapest and most nutritious food in human history'

Problem for us boys is we need to avoid the white carb roll and fat in the cheese. Eating a cheeseburger does give you protein but the carb content gives a temporary boost as we need slow burning carbs such as whole meal wheat.
Having said that after 5 or more pints a BK double whopper hits the spot.

McDs is the answer after a night on the shandies :D

Have to say I don't eat mcds often, but a cheeky Big Mac once in a while reminds you just how good they are.

Totally get OGs point about calorie counting. Too many nights eating out, combined with lack of exercise and I need to get back to the gym. Pronto

Saying that.... Fringe Festival is back in Edinburgh. That usually means late nights, booze and plenty double cheeseburgers! 8-)

ruby, your in west london, get yourself to westfield and try a Byron burger, stunning proper burger, they are in kings rd and a few other places too.

thing is a decent burger shouldnt be that bad for you and as part of a sensible diet there is no reason why you cant have one. the old 20:80 ratio thing is fine. i also like that eat till you feel 80%full thing .. i just cant tell when i'm full :)

i dont like thelabling on foods either. who buys a 500ml bottle of coke and drinks only 1/2??? say what the counts are for the full bottle.

get rid of that stupid wheel thing with colours ... thats even worse. a bit of cheese is not bad for you just dont go eating s**t loads of it.

simple thing is put less in, move about more and you should be ok.

i try to avoid processed food when i can (not all the time as some is nice :) ). a burger is a good point. the costco burgers are really nice and i watched them chuck a hunk of meat into a mincer they made trays of mince and then trays of burgers... cnat say better than that.

Ye have to agree ive been working behind the desk for a while now and it quickly gets out of hand with cakes biscuits tea etc. A quick look round the office, people came as slim and now twice the size.... Problem with office work its mentally tiring and its hard work getting out and doing some exercise after a day, your body goes into like a sleep mode.

Thankfully im quite active with the gym, biking and the two football teams I play in and always been an athletic person. But when I broke my fingers and hand over Christmas and the weather set in I did nothing for about 8 weeks and became a bit festively plump lol! It was so hard to get back into shape, like it was fighting against me and when your used to being able to do something then find it difficult it gets very frustrating.

I can highly recommend 2-3 spin classes a week to keep in shape. Started them a few weeks ago. Really enjoying them now and get a weird high by the end. Bloody good workout too!

Me too Rubes - I find it far to easy just to give up on the whole exercise thing at the gym - I need to be shouted at by some lycra clad man or woman!

Edit - although 2-3x a week is a bit beyond me!

I've swapped evening gym for mornings. Way better more energy and less inclined to bunk off.

Not sure if winter will be so good tho.
