I saw this luckily enough to get to the ebay link before it was removed and while I am against software piracy being a bit of a programmer myself and developers do need to get paid for thier hard work the nav system in the z4 takes the p*** compared to other aftermarket solutions such as tom tom where you can buy 3 whole tom tom units for the price of a dvd europe map for the z4. Last week I ended up on the wrong side of leeds and was late due to the fact of not having postcode search and picking the wrong street our of 3 similar choices argh!
When I bought the car new I admit i didnt do any research of the nav at all and just added the £1800 option for it to be in there as it seemed like the logical choice... i also expected at least postcode search... absolute rip off compared to a tom tom which does a whole lot more for £60, so no way would you find me at the stealer buying a sat nav disc piracy or not
anyway.... if you can find a source for this by doing yourself or paying someone i think it is well worth it. not just the new map but the firware update. I have attepted to update myself in the past but it never worked as the dvd drive in the z4 is very funny about what DVD discs it can read and there are too many variables to get a good disc.... e.g media brand, the drive you wrote the disc on and the software you used to write the ISO. so Neil's post is bargain as it solves all that headache.
The Nav update which BMW does not sell and should do for free officially but rarely bothers this one has been tweaked and is obviously made by a 3rd party, since my car is not under warranty no reason not to install this... I had perspective view from updating myself a few years back but after just installing the new one you have:
-Huge M Logo Splash screen with BMW roundal, (great if you have the Z4M/C, not my taste really as my car is a 3.0 but I can live with it haha)
-Night View (Very cool, changes the menu colours to a dark blue and the earth to black with the roads red, green and blue, very easy to see and less screen glare at night looks very OEM.
-FULL postcode search with perfect accuracy very very very useful for me!!!
-Speed camera POI but unlike the one i tried years back this one talks to you and warns you of a speed camera ahead with a toggle option it settings, no noticeable slowdown with the POI switched on either.
Depending on how accurate the speed camera POI is I made be able to remove my road pilot now from the car as I havent paid for suscription on it for last year so the new nav may be more accurate we shall see!
Apologies if I have broken any rules by posting this review CJ but you must all agree our sat navs do not return much value for money.... after this update my £1800 seems a little more realistic.

I'll leave BMW a tip on my next service!
