Evening all.
My roof motor packed up and I couldn't resuscitate it so I needed a replacement. Used E85 motors are £100+ on eBay so I started thinking if anything else would work instead...
Long story short - an R52 Mini roof motor does the trick.
I bought this on eBay for £50 delivered:
After removing the motor from the assembly and comparing it with the original Z4 motor the mounting flanges both looked the same:
One slight difference is that the Mini pump insertion depth is slightly less than the Z4 pump, so this shim needs swapping over from the mini pump to the Z4 pump, otherwise it leaks hydraulic fluid. Ask me how I know...
Once the Mini motor is attached to the Z4 pump, it's just a case of joining the wires (straight forward as same colours: blue-black and green-black)
Then mount the whole assembly in the back left corner of the boot as per the standard relocation guide.
Works like a charm :dance2:
