Cheap OEM parts?

Anybody know where I can get a set of rear coil springs and what sort of price I'd be looking at? Also going to be needing a pair of front control arm bushes.
Best place for discounted OEM parts? Just had part one of a phone call with local dealer who have said I need all these and potentially more (after they've charged me another hour to find the odd noises coming from my engine).

This could get expensive...

Joe @ Sopers is usually the best price, or Cooper BMW Reading are good and they price match too. They have a website as well where you can order online/check prices.

Thanks, I'll try that. Also just called Coopers BMW in Ipswich too as I'm often back in Suffolk, to see what they can quote me vs. the labour rates in Blackheath.

inkey$ - i have a set of springs in my boot - how can i check if they are front or rear (they were there from when i bought the car as pre owner fitted some eibachs)

yours for free....

Hi Jamiez. That would be great. Not sure how to check other than through part numbers which may or may not be on the springs themselves. Couldn't find the part number on RealOEM either so have no point of reference.

Just says this: "The choice of proper coil springs depends on the options installed on your vehicle. Refer to your local BMW dealer for details."

Update: After calling Coopers in Ipswich and getting their special 'over 4 years old' price of £85+vat hourly rate and 10% off all parts, I managed to negotiate a deal with Stephen James in Blackheath. Work taking place after full inspection is:

* Inspection & software update - £250
* Rear springs and front bushes - £637.54
* V-Belt tensioner (replacing with updated hydraulic one) - £365.54

Total: £1253.08

Stings a little still but at least I got them to match Coopers and hope to get my car back Wednesday. They still can't work out why the MFSW isn't working, even now its had the correct module fitted. Think I might refit that once I get her back and see if that makes any difference.

Moral of the story - ring around and always try to get a price match.

Rear springs and front bushes for 637? that sounds steep!
Not sure how much the springs are but I paid 130 for front bushes fitted at an indi a while back. I cant imagine it costs 500 quid to buy rear springs and have them fitted! :o

A1BMW are really good just outside of London up the A1, thats where i get all my work done. Check out the website or give them a call.

Inkey... Give StormMotorwerks a try, I've used them for servicing on my E46 M3 and my 3.0 Z4.

I see you're using a dealership in Blackheath, so Storm are just as close to you as me... just up the A12 in Ilford.

Their contact details are...

Thanks Stuart; not far at all.
Is that the same StormMotorwerks that also do the custom billeted gear knobs and handbrake handles?

They are one and the same

I have one of their gearknobs in my Z4.

Are you around Blackheath much? I've not seen your car around!

I've always been tempted but never got around to ordering one! Got close at the Gaydon event but the stall didnt have the one I wanted in stock. Will def give them a call so thanks again.

Yeah, I live in Blackheath too. Whats your car? Seen about 3 or 4 'regular' spots around the place but so far no stubbies!

silver 03 plate, debadged, big aerial! there's a pic on an old post (my first one I think) which was taken on the heath going up towards Greenwich Park. Small world! I wonder if there are any others in SE3 on here...

might be an excuse for a mini-meet and photo session to blitz the october comp
