£550 is cheap if it's in good condition and could be a nice weekend away to pick it up

Perfect for me as it's scratched and cheap.... as I'll need it sprayed white anyway.

However, 10hours each way kinda ruins it

True, worth thinking about,,,,,,,,,, :driving: :driving:

Based on a London location, approx. 550 miles like sticky said. Equates to a 1100 mile round trip (serious mileage!) not to mention expensive. Based on my average mpg it costs me £0.18 per mile... £198.00 which will reduced somewhat due to better motorway economy. But IMO still easier and better off with something more local, even if that's the Midlands!!

Excellent spot - many thanks
Will be going to collect it next week, as I will be in Lairg and its not too far out of my way.

Nice one!
Try go with a dry, clean car... clean because the hardtop will sit on your bodywork area around the soft top area. Dry because obviously you'll be stowing the soft top! Take a look at page 5 & 6 here.

Appreciate the info.
Will post some pics when I get back.

Well done, hope you have a good trip and will be good to see some photos
Also see if there are any lock covers with it, worth asking

What's that cost in petrol to do 1,100 miles? £200? Add that to the £550 and you've got it for a good price.

Add the B&B or cheap hotel £50-£100 and you're at around the £800 mark..Near what you'd pay for one without all the driving. That puts
1000 miles on your car in one hit too. Looks in good condition too.

Hi Everyone
After a very long drive to Lairg, I then went to Elgin to collect the hard top. It helps that I started from Beamish as the weather both ways was poor to say the least. Need to go back to the North of Scotland to enjoy it properly without the rain, mist and a hired Transit van.
Anyway I got the hard top fitted at the weekend and was pleasantly surprised with the two tone effect - I had planned to have it sprayed to match the ///M in the summer.
Fits well but needs slight adjustment on the rear passenger side to pull it down about 1.5mm. Very little wind noise, all in all a good buy.
Now what's next

Result - thanks to firebobby's spot.
I did a 550 mile round trip for mine, yours was double that, but worth it
Not sure if the 2 tone works, colour coded to match bodywork might be better IMO

Always nice finishing a mod, if you can class the hardtop as a mod!

You can adjust the sides, just remember to unlock/lock the nut before and after you raise or lower. I played around with it for a while till I was happy.

Much prefer the hardtop look but I'm also unsure the two tone works! Spray or wrap!
