No brillo pad I save that for the alloys  but I did have a rummage in the kitchen and found the bottle of stainless steel cleaner. The original tips I got back from the polishers are away in a box for another day.flybobbie said:Zed what did you use to clean them a Brillo pad, looked scratched.

Exactly what I was just about to ask.ajguk said:Do these just come straight off with a tap from behind with a rubber mallet? Mine are filthy and too close to the bumper for me to want to go near with a brillo!
On the 23is they just tap off, looking at the image above the 20is must be the same & I think 35i &35is have a weld on themNanu said:Don't want to appear stupid but I'm sure others may be asking the same question but once you get them off and polished, Do they just slide back on or are they bolted or something?
the 35 tips are welded on mate, this thread seems to be primarily about 23/2.0 cars where the tips slide on and offNanu said:Don't want to appear stupid but I'm sure others may be asking the same question but once you get them off and polished, Do they just slide back on or are they bolted or something?
