Hello everyone, I'm a french guy so excuse me for my poor English. I often read your thread and it's my first conctrubution, I hope it could help someone :thumbsup:

Assuming from the front bumper 'air ducts' this is for a z4m?
Are you planning on producing any more copies of these parts? If so I would be extremely interested in buying some, I am very soon about to modify some Hard motorsport backing plates from an e46m3 and duct from the bumper, would much prefer to go your route, although I have AP calipers and 356mm discs so assume some modification with yours will be necessary as well?

Yes, it's for Z4M. I've try to modify M3 part, but the conception is very different so i decided to create the piece. In fact, you have to fold (or bend... or twist... I don't know the good verb :cry: ) with te good angle. Not to little in order to not touch the steering rod, and not to much in order to not touch the brake disc. The diameter of my part is 360mm, so it's OK, but your brake disc should not be thicker than 32mm.
So sorry for my English, I hope you understand me. I realy do my best :(

I have to finish the prototype before, but yes I can creat some limited pieces :wink:
As you can see in the french forum, I've choose a very high temperature epoxy, let me some week and it will be a perfect fitting part, with fuel resistance and a high mechanical strength :thumbsup:

Here, you can see the perfect weight balance between the left and the right part, there are some traces of wax, please don't consider it):

Thanks for replying gazz and I'm happy to hear you may consider making some more pieces :)
However, you are right and the 356mm disc I use is 32mm thick and the clearance around the steering knuckle is indeed the issue with the OEM plate at the moment (besides any cooling requirements).
Will you have the opportunity to test the part with such a disc thickness?

The way the plates fix to the strut on the standard version compared to the M will be completely different so I would imagine not.
For the standard car look for any e46 parts (there are many similar backing plates out there), with the M the front suspension is similar but not the same as e36m3 and I have not been able to find any off the shelf backing plates and neither had the op by the sounds of things hence him making his own.

Cooling duct.

I'd be up for a set if they fit the 3.0si - one of mine has recently become unattached to all three bolts!
 
Ok, I get the cooling duct bit, but am still at a bit of a loss as to why the backing plate makes much of a difference???
