Spotted this this morning. Looks a bargain for anyone who could DIY fix a broken (fixed closed) roof.

No connection to car/seller/etc., just interested!

Don’t think those are 17” wheels though as per description, odd

That's common on Autotrader listings. Says what the 'standard'wheels would have been and then, a bit higher up, what upgrades the car has. So left the factory with bigger wheels which from pics have since been swapped out for non-OE ones.

There has been quite a few 35i up for sale for less than £8000.

It will only be a bargain if the roof is a cheap fix.

Agreed. A very early E89, N54 with over 100k miles and cheap Chinese aftermarket wheels would put me off even without the unknown roof costs.

I don’t follow the market much. I just get auto trader ads for “35i” and the majority (might be chancers) are more like £13-18k or so!

Absolutely agree it could be a titanic money pit and 100,000 miles is, regrettably, always going to be 100,000 miles…

But you could turn it in to a cut a shut Lambo with the right kit? :poke: :D

I would be assuming all the simple options have been exhausted & this is a can of worms ready to opened by the bargain hunting amateur.

Those parking sensors look after market, the wheels are whack, the roof who knows what state of fuckery has gone on. This looks like a nightmare to me, the very epitomy of inheriting someone else's abused vehicle.

I liked the no **concerning** advisories bit :)

Shocks fooked, brakes worn, headlight aim repeatedly mentioned (front end impact?) 50:50 pass/fail ration on MOTs.

I would need paying £6000 to take it off his hands - an e89 that had reached the end of it's life & should be allowed to die gracefully IMHO.

Run - don't walk.

Yeah I wouldn't call it a bargain, it's definitely an abused unloved example... especially when there's some on the market for not a lot more. A dealer near me has one listed at £8k, similar mileage, history

Luckily seller is oblivious to his pride and joy now being ripped to shreds here :-D :-D :D

😂😂 nah unknowingly to us, he’s got an old thread on here somewhere, cataloging all the care, maintenance and carefully curated mods he’s completed

Mot history seems typical 35i.
But knowing all the faults now these Zfours have and would need fixing, £3k might be good diy car.
Notice in pics the boots open.
I always check the exhaust tips, enthusiast would keep clean.
Seen a few tired Z4 around here, whites and grey's, not the best colours to be stuck at the side of the road, not moved sat on grit where the road sweepers have had to go around.
This looks a boring car.
Perhaps a diy wrap and interior change.
