Chavin' It Up

Ok, so I've secured a z4 35i manual at last on a 2011 plate.. picking it up from Bimmer next week and very excited :driving:

Will post piccies when I can. Already thinking ahead about boosting performance. What can you recommend for;

1. Improved air flow. Better flow exhaust (perhaps with meatier note) and air filter - are K&N still in the game?
2. Remap - seen loads of options but would prefer a consensus on best option
3. Any other tweaks, nibbles or mods that add a few extra bhp?

Is it not quick enough for you then? I know I was tempted after six years of the same thing but you've not even got it yet?! ;)

I know I know I know... just excited and getting WELL ahead of myself :D

Would be good to know options though, intending to crash a Jap car meet my friend in his Skyline attends :fuelfire:

There aren't a huge amount of mods for this car but there are options on exhaust (be careful of drone), intakes, downpipes, intercoolers, remaps (ESS seems choice).. While the car isn't heavily supported by modders, the engine is!

We have the ESS Stage 2 map on our 35i, running it now for almost 4 years with no issues :thumbsup:

If you want to take it further, just do a search for N54 tuning or have a look at the posts here on the US e89 site

Also have a look at an LSD if you're looking at getting the most out of any tuning mods on our lovely smooth British roads :driving:

MHD is the new standard for engine tuning.

It has the ability to make changes to more engine parameters than any other platform and is continually being developed.

Happy to eat humble pie. It's proper quick without mods, picked it up today and so very impressed. I do however miss the chunkier MSport steering wheel, had a quick look on eBay and a steering wheel and airbag centre piece is around £550. Can anyone better that price? Is this something a bimmer franchise would fit, or do they frown and tut disapprovingly at changes to stock car spec?
