I think I am at the point of wanting to know what exactly the cost is to change ...
I know it shouldn't be much extra a month as I've already been quoted £41 a month with a trade in value £1300 less from the dealer than WBAC would give me. Sell to WBAC and get an M135i and the difference is about £10 a month more for a new car versus a 2013 35iS. If I were to sell my Smart diesel runaround I would be about £100 a month better off but with only one car and not one that can drop the roof.
If I know where I stand £ wise and the Z4 develops another fault it may be curtains ! TIme will tell as I love it ... but know a new M135i debadged would also be amusing in a different way
I was pleasantly surprised what the dealer offered for the Zed after 26 months as I was expecting to be in negative equity, more so as I bought when BMW were doing 8K contribution at 4.9% APR, plus the clincher on the M135i at the time was my dealer was doing specials on them with 5K contribution so was an easy decision to swap over from the Zed. I will say though whilst I find the M135i a cracking motor its still feels like a standard 1 Series with a big lump of an engine which is the making of the car. With the Zed it was the other way round, loved the looks and interior which made being in it a good feeling but let down by the engine which in 2.0 guise felt weak I wonder if I changed to a 35i Zed I would be happier as would have the looks and go.
Tim.
Interesting. The 35iS is certainly not short of go. The speed of the M135i (well, 0.1 quicker to 62 more to be precise

) in a convertible is a hoot and massively different I guess to the capable but not so quick 2.0 (depending on the guise you had it in though).
I have driven an M135i and the midrange feels noticeably beefier than the 35iS but the top end is not as strong as the 35iS ... which really flies in the upper rev range. That said the M135i was a total tool and shot off the line with ease. The 8 speed gearbox is far better than the 7 speed DCT of the 35iS.
I am torn - I want to keep my convertible as I have only had it just under 8 months ... but if I am offered a stunning deal it may go. No stunning deal and it will be given a good chance to show me it is reliable !
