Changing Z4 in 2010?

If I am going to change my Z4 for something else in 2010, the following cars will be on the shortlist (for around £20k):

BMW 330i/330d Coupe M Sport (2007)
BMW 330i/330d Saloon M Sport (2006/2007)
BMW 630i Coupe (2006)
Mercedes Benz SLK280 (2006)

Car must have Sat Nav, Bluebooth, Xenon Headlights, sport seats, leather interior, and sports suspension. New Z4 will be top of my list, but I don't think even sDrive23i with all these fitted options can be bought for £20k in 2010. I should get more on part exchange if I trade in my Z4 for a proper coupe/saloon in Quarter 2.

Does anyone also think about changing Z4 in 2010?

Personally, i would go for a 330d in coupe guise..then remap the thing..

Stonking engine..

6 series has NEVER appealed to me, just does not look right.

Dont even get started on Mercedes, I have a W211 2004 plate E320 CDI (70K Mileage). It has/had the following problems:

- 2 New tiptronic gearboxes
- 8 new ball joints
- Front NSR Wing is rusting and so is the bootlid.

I will never buy from Mercedes again..

I will sell the Z4 in late 2010 i think, either for a 330d Saloon/Coupe or a 3.0si Z4 Coupe.

Mike has SLK350, and his car is quite reliable. I know Mercedes have more problems than BMW, so they will be at the bottom of the list. I also quite like new Audi TT 3.2 quattro, but road tax is over £400.

Im considering it. I've got a new job with a 75 mile commute a day, 375 miles a week without personal use so I really need a diesel. Looking at a 123d, 330d or 335d. really miss my old 330cd, would have been ideal now. Love the Z but I'm thinking something more practical would be nice. as you said it needs to be fully loaded with extras. :D same sort of budget as well. Think it would have to be a BMW as well, nothing else really excited me unless I win to lotto. :D

lol... try £1200 road tax each year... you guys in the UK don't know how lucky you are when it comes to cars... your cars, your tax and your insurance are so so so much cheaper than Ireland

Sorry for moving off the topic... i would go for the 6 series... i think they are a lovely car and the rarest out of all of the above IMO... Any 3 series, whether it be a 318 or a an M3 all look the same (i'm going to get shot for saying that) but a 6 series is something in it's own league IMO... best of luck with what ever you choose

I actually like the 6 series. Not so much as a change for the Z4 as it's a much bigger animal, but makes an alternative to the other big bland saloon and coupes on the road.

I like the 6 series, looks good in black. As for the mercedes slk, its a bit girly in my opinion ?. (apologies to anybody that has one).

im also thinking about upgrading the daily mode of transport. my shortlist is as follows:-

BMW Z4M Coupe (might still be out of the price range though)
BMW Z4 Coupe 3.0si - (with some nice wheels and tastefull mods)
BMW Z4M Roadster (these seem soo cheap at the minute, seen some on autotrader c.18-19k !)
Porsche Boxster 987 (still doubtfull due to the reliability issues i have heard & read about though?)

I dont have a need for 4 doors at the minute so going to enjoy inpractical cars whilst i can !

Yep only a couple of minor issues in 2.5 years, sorted under warranty.

Suppose it does a bit, but any worse than the Z4 - not sure. MX-5, Z4, SLK - all my mates and colleagues say they're all "girly" anyway

Yeah....done the MX-5 and Z4 ...probably why I grew a beard! Where I live most of the girls seem to drive Porches...so guess they need to be added to the girly list too!!

Depends if you want back seats or not. TT's are pretty much useless, and there's a 4'6" height limit iirc. Seems the DSG box is not entirely reliable, I'm taking mine in tomorrow. Quite a good car but ultimately limited by being based on a VW floorpan; Z4 drives better IMO and slightly more economical (TTQ is 150kg more). I suspect I'll chane it for a 3 Series Coupe at some point, as no other 2+2s really appeal.

Try a few and see how you like them; what the dealer's like; what deals you get. And then let us know :)

I'm looking at a 2007+ 330d Coupe M Sport in white this year. Just waiting for prices to drop a little as they seem high at the moment

Check out the topgear review on youtube for the TT 3.2, Not good !.....i considered one but the review put me off. i have also heard some horror stories for the dsg gearbox failing as well....expensive !!!
