Changing to non RFT's, low pressure sensor?

No i've had no problems i'm running Falken 452's,as long as when you get the tyres fitted press the tyre pressure button and your away you go,the car cant tell what tyres you have got on

ps switching to Non-runflats you will need a B/up,ie tyreweld and a compessor in the boot.

I paid a bout £400 fitted for all four, the perfomance i can't fault them the only down side no rim protection.

I switched to FK452's last week, about £360 for all four from Camskills, found them to be great tyres in all respects and a bargain compared to the Bridgestone run flats.

I switched to Falkens and had the pressure alarm go off twice but it settled after the second re-set and has been fine since.

Falkens are a lower/mid range tyre but seem to suit the Z4 suspension set up much better than the original Bridgstone RFTs, I paid about £360 fitted with 4 wheel steer checked (but no adjustment needed which would be extra).

I'm fussy with tyres and the Falkens grip very well, they also give a VAST improvement in handling because the sidewalls give a bit (unlike the Bridgstone RFTs) this allows the suspension to work keeping the tread in contact with the road, reducing tramlining and bump steer mid-bend which can be unnerving. You can feel the extra give in the sidewall under cornering loads but IMO this gives the steering more feel as to whats going on and allows much faster cornering because you are not having the front end whipped out line or being bounced in to a ditch.

They feel confident in the wet for for similar reasons and made a huge difference to braking because they stay in contact and don't dance around like the RFTs.

The alarm didn't even go off when I switched to Falkens. Unless the guy knew and reset it without telling me. £400 from event tyres. Worth every penny - it's like a whole new car.

Alarm won't go off as the sensor simply measures the relative rotations of each pair of wheels using the ABS sensor and thus a low pressure tyre would rotate at a different speed and trip the alarm. Lower then bot hto 10psi at the same time and it wouldn't trip either
