Changing the zed this year.

I'm changing the zed at the end of the year and I've narrowed it down to three choices.
This is the first (cheapest):
Audi TT 2.0 TFSI Quattro.

I'm liking this much more than I thought I would.

Interior: Typical Audi, very nice dash and seats, and the controls all feel quality (loads better than the zed).

Performance: the 2.0 TFSI has 227 bhp and hits 60 in 5.3 seconds so no slouch, and the noise it makes is very addictive!

The styling is more aggressive than the last one but still not as pretty as the E89.....but I'm liking this a lot!

To be continued.....

Is that right 227bhp 0-60 in 5.3?

I think the new tt models are quite light ~1250kgs or thereabouts, but that's a seriously fast time for minimal power, is that with DSG box? How much torque is that engine producing?

love that dash! I do think BMW are being left behind by the likes of Audi and Mercedes with on-board tech, cabin layout & quality

370/1600-4300 apparently! :? and 1335kg for the Quattro.

When you lock it you get a double heart beat noise from the car.....nice!!!

Hmmm, I dunno mate, I get to drive Gill's TT (OK not the latest model - but there's not a lot of difference apart from the display) and I still feel a lot happier in the zed. On the plus side, the TT is a much more practical car, you can carry loads of stuff in the back with those nonsensical rear seats dropped down.

And the other two contenders are..........?

Really like the new TT.

There have been a few issues reported with the media package and another issue with sills gaps.

That blue is stunning. Is it Sepang?

I'm in a new 15 plate TTS this week while mine is being serviced.

The dash and the climate controls are a work of art!

Handling is way better than my mk2.. Better feel through the steering.

However as mine is mapped + modded this doesnt feel as urgent as my car.

Have to ask why not go for the TTs instead... Extended leather and magride as part of the better engine make it all seem better value.

Isn't it an extra £10k when fully spec'd?

I've picked three price ranges and the TTS would have gone into the middle bracket.
If i decide to go for a cheaper option the 2.0 TFSI fits the bill.

I'm sure that, whatever car Lux goes for, it'll end up having splash proof, wipe-clean upholstery to make the post-dogging cleanup easier

I want to like these purely as Audi retains the quality crown over BMW and Merc but the TTs new front looks gaping awful and too many straight edges will date it in next to no time, not so keen on the smoking jacket seats either :( but still love the build and quality interiors. Think I would prefer the Golf R with a bit more poke if going Audi/Vag.

Tim.

Yeah, I have to agree, the TT's interior is nice. I drove a couple before Red came along, and it was real quality.

I really like the new TT and the none S version is as quick as the old TTS version so they are certainly moving the game on, the interior is very nice too, I haven't seen the new TTS yet on the road but I looked around the same model as you are showing and I liked it very much.

Seats awesome, performance plenty, dash...mmm jury out, outside looks..meh..bit too beetle.

Interested to see the other two.
