When I joined the original Zed Forum several (many years ago........) the upgrade changes being made to Zed was subtle and improved both looks and to some extent minor performance upgrades. However with the price of early pre owned zeds dropping below £6k the owners are becoming more drastic in their alterations - white matt wraps, multi coloured wheels (of various designs) etc etc. Not so sure this is a good thing but as they say (and I often do) each to their own. I am happy to maintain the o.e.m. looks and finish and to keep the Zed looking as Bangeman intended.

Interesting. When I look at classic cars I always prefer the look to be original. On the other hand on even older cars the bodies were sometimes coach built so would be different anyway. For the Z4 I guess we all must like the original or we would not have bought one (?).

I don't think I have a preference of original or modded. Some of the modded cars (Jonnyessex, Bradmarsh (potentially), Marius, Badpritt) I do like and then others I'm not a great fan of.
For me the Z4MC is the best looking standard Z. That said, I think the ///MC can still be improved, lowered on EIbachs and fitted with CSLs seriously enhances the look in my opinion.
I guess I'm of the opinion that however much I like the standard car, some tastefully fitted mods can enhance the look further.

I don't agree, people on tt forum doesn't modify car anymore, go and read, most of them struggling to run and maintain properly.

stuff like degingering is down to personal taste, i dont think they look too bad on my merlot but on a silver car i can see the attraction. again personally i think if your going to get rid then just changing the orange bits to clear looks a bit odd but some of the aftermarket light look good.
Personally i like CSLs, Aero skirts and some lowered cars look improved. If the car is right, a black roof also sets it off nicely.
The roadster can pull off the ebay spoiler, but i'm yet to see one that suits the Coupe's shape. Each car has certain rules you should stick to, 24" wheels won't look good on a z4, but then neither will 15". As long as thing's don't look "out of place" then it's all good.

I'm a big fan of people's attempts at aiming for the "OEM+" look. Obviously this doesn't apply to 'project cars' (Project Marmite) etc, where you're talking about re-engineering the design of the car. Then it's down to how good the end product and attention to detail reflects the user's intended final design.
